Product Description

HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an approximately 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that is provided by a ballast which is connected directly to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to provide greater light output with much less power consumption. Studies show that a 35 watt HID lamp produces 3 times as much light compared to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 10-15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere 3 amps during operation (that is up to 80% less power during use!). In addition to high output and low power usage, the HID headlight provides longer service life. With no filament  to vibrate and fatigue, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last roughly 10 times longer than halogen bulbs. What is the HID Color Temperature? Col or Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a characteristic of light that is sometimes misunderstood as brightness, when it's more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light's temperature, this may be a bit misleading. The term color temperature actually refers to the color that is associated with the amount of heat needed to produce a color in from an ideal black body. Here is a rough guide to Color Temperatures for our HID bulbs. It is hard to describe HID colors accurately because different people tend to perceive colors slightly differently. 3000k= Yellow, 4300k= Bright White with a hint of yellow, 6000k= Pure white light (some people detect a slight blue), 8000k= White light with a blue tinge, 10000k= Light blue, 12000k= Deeper Blue, 30000k= Violet/Purple.

4Work Fine
By FrontPage
I don't even remember when I got these, I think I finally installed them last summer. Here it is, springtime, and there are some issues but I like these.

It will take you more than 20 minutes unless you're well rehearsed in diving under the hood of your vehicle to switch out bulbs and wire a harness kit. Took me about 40 minutes, but that's after I had been switching between colored bulbs and OEM's. The kit installed well. I don't like to drill so I used screw that have already been installed in my Honda Fit. The color looks great; light throw looks better; people pay attention to drivers using HID lights (you ALWAYS keep your eyes on the bluer lights) and the high beams only switch the angle of output (and don't actually get brighter). I have a bit of a problem with the wiring harness that seems to be a little loose. Certain bumps, the lights flicker. That is what happens with after-market products sometimes. Yes, it can be a hazard and I need to get under the hood and make certain that the connections are all tight. I like that the bulbs have a metal mounting plate instead of plastic. WATCH for the plastic base of any bulb; between the heat and the pressure of springs holding bulbs, the plastic WILL weaken and eventually fail, which happened to me. Star deduction for the wiring harness issue. Otherwise they're working fine. I did buy another kit (have yet to install) for the fog lamps, and the lamps are 3000 kelvin (orange). Don't go higher than daylight (5600 or 6000K) because the higher or lower you go, your light output will diminish. I bought a pair of 8000K lamps that are still in, but I do want to get back to the 6000K bulb, because I did see a slight light dropoff from the old kit I had with the 6000K's. It had to be replaced since the plastic base failed.

4Great customer service
By Jefferson T
I wrote a previous review for this item and rated it quite low. I must admit that the company's customer service is a great one. Shortly after posting the feedback and product review, i was contacted by Kensun customer support and they offered to quickly send a replacement set of HID bulbs. within a day, I received a replacement set and although the weather and the busy scheduled hasn't allotted me the time to install them, it is great to see that the seller/manufacturer will stand by their products to the point of replacing an item that was most likely damaged during shipping. Great company to do business with - will edit when I am able to install them on my car.
